Submitting Data

CHIA uses 3 web-based submission platforms to provide secure, web-based services for the exchange of data: CHIA File Submissions, CHIA’s Web-Based Applications, and Secure File Transfer Protocol (sFTP) Client. All of these platforms require that you register to gain access to submit or receive data.

CHIA requires both organization registration and specific user registration to ensure that only authorized organizations and people can access our submissions platforms.

Yes, you must register for CHIA’s web-based services. To register, each individual user filing for an organization must complete and sign the CHIA Data Reporter User Agreement.

Completed Data Reporter User Agreements need to be submitted to DL-Data-Submitter-HelpDesk@chiamass.gov.

Ensure that you are opening CHIA’s web-based applications in Google Chrome.

Some applications may not function properly unless you clear your cache before opening them to use for an extend period. These include SNF-CR, REA-CR, MGT-CR, RPO, and the Hospital Cost Report (CRM).

If you require specific filing help, our general help desk will ensure that your questions are sent to the right CHIA staff person to help you.

The platforms may be unavailable between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. weekdays while CHIA performs nightly maintenance.

There is a 25-minute time-out when a user is online. If a user does not press a key for 25 minutes, they will be logged out and placed back at the sign-on screen. This means that any unsaved data being entered online will be lost.

We recommend that you get the information ready before logging on and save information periodically, before logging off or looking for additional submission information. Users can save data and reenter the online data screens aanytime before the data is submitted.
