Hospital Inpatient Discharge Database (HIDD) Reporting

Overview

The acute care hospital inpatient department data dashboard contains data through December 2025. The primary purpose of this series is to provide timely patterns and trends on key inpatient utilization measures. Acute care hospitals submit data quarterly to CHIA’s Case Mix databases including information on patient sociodemographics, diagnostic information, treatment and service information, and hospital charges.

Interactive Dashboard

The interactive dashboard and databook are updated at each release with more complete information as it becomes available. The data in the quarterly updates is preliminary.

In the February 2025 quarterly update, data on statewide visits and average length of stay (ALOS) by hospital system were added under the statewide utilization section.
