Relative Price (RP) Data Submissions

Overview

M.G.L. c. 12C, § 10 requires the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) to collect certain information from both private and public health care payers in the Commonwealth.

Payers must submit data annually in accordance with Regulation 957 CMR 2.00. This regulation governs the methodology and filing requirements for health care payers to calculate and report on Relative Price (RP) data. For more information and regulatory guidance, refer to 957 CMR 2.00 and any accompanying Administrative Bulletins.

Submission Deadlines

Relative price data files must be submitted according to the following deadlines:

Hospitals – November 13, 2026
Multipliers Calculation Summary – November 13, 2026
Physician Groups – November 13, 2026
Other Providers – TBD *

* Materials for Other Providers, including data specifications, reporting templates, and the uniform provider list will be released separately at a later date.

Registration Instructions

New users must register to submit data via CHIA Submissions.

Complete User Agreement

Complete and sign the CHIA Data Reporter User Agreement (DRUA) after reviewing the DRUA instructions. Note that each individual user for an organization must complete the form.

Submit User Agreement

Submit the completed Data Reporter User Agreement to DL-Data-Submitter-HelpDesk@chiamass.gov. You will be notified when your account is ready to use.

Relative Price and Provider Price Variation

CHIA reports yearly on provider price differences using a measure that adjusts for patient needs, services provided, and insurance type.
