Most data is submitted via one of CHIA’s Web-Based Submission Platforms. A CHIA data reporter user agreement is required to access and use any of CHIA's submission platforms. Please see the links below for specific data submission information.
NEW! Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) Reporting
CHIA uses three web-based submission platforms to provide secure, web-based services for the exchange of data; CHIA File Submissions, CHIA’s Web-Based Applications, and Secure File Transfer Protocol (sFTP) Client. All of these platforms require that you register to gain access to submit or receive data.
CHIA requires both registration and specific user information to ensure that only authorized organizations and people can access our submissions platforms.
CHIA requires that all data reporting entities complete the CHIA Data Reporter User Agreement. This includes completing the User Authorization Form (Exhibit A) of this agreement for each person that the data reporter authorizes to submit data to CHIA. Once completed, email this agreement to CHIA at DL-Data-Submitter-HelpDesk@chiamass.gov.
For CHIA Web-Based Applications, please ensure that you are opening these applications using Google Chrome. Also, these applications will not function properly unless you clear your cache before opening the applications and using them for an extend period. These applications include SNF-CR, REA-CR, MGT-CR, RPO, and the Hospital Cost Report (CRM).

If you require specific filing help, our general help desk will ensure your questions are sent to the best CHIA staff person to help you.
The platforms may be unavailable between 5pm and 8am weekdays while CHIA performs nightly maintenance to these platforms.
There is a 25-minute time-out when a user is online. If a user does not press a key for 25 minutes, he/she will be logged out and placed back at the sign-on screen. This means that any data being entered online that has not been saved will be LOST. Therefore, users should get the information ready before logging on, and be sure to SAVE information before logging off or looking for submission information. Users can save data and reenter the online data screens many times until the data is actually submitted, so users should save data frequently during any session.
Yes, you must register for CHIA’s web-based transaction services. To register, each individual user filing for an organization must complete and sign a CHIA Data Reporter User Agreement.
