Overview

CHIA collects certain information from both private and public health care payers in the Commonwealth as per M.G.L. c. 12C, § 10.  Payers must submit data  in accordance with regulation 957 CMR 2.00 which governs the methodology and filing requirements for the calculation and reporting of both Health Status Adjusted Total Medical Expenses (TME) and Alternative Payment Methods (APM).

Reporting Requirements

The TME-APM data is submitted to CHIA online through CHIA Submissions. If you are a new provider or new user and do not have log in credentials, you must register with CHIA as soon as possible.

Please refer to the CHIA Submissions User Guide for information specific to TME and APM reporting. For more information on filing deadlines and regulatory guidance, please refer to Regulation 957 CMR 2.00 (Payer Data Reporting) and the latest Administrative Bulletins.

Web-Based Submission Platform Registration Information

Most data is submitted via one of CHIA’s Web-Based Submission Platforms. A CHIA Data Reporter User Agreement is required to access and use any of CHIA's submission platforms.

The CHIA Data Reporter User Agreement establishes the terms and conditions under which an organization and its authorized users may access CHIA's Web-Based Submission Platforms. The Agreement requires the following components: a) Main Agreement (Pages 1–4): Completed and signed once per Data Reporter entity b) Exhibit A – User Authorization Form: Completed and signed separately for each individual user who will access CHIA's platforms, including the Agreement Administrator.
